Irish pop phenomenon and identical twins John and Edward Grimes aka Jedward will be entertaining the crowds on The Good Time Guide Stage on Saturday 19th July. Over the last four years the crazy haired duo have amassed a serious online following. Their YouTube channel has gathered nearly 45 million hits and on top of this over 700,000 Twitter followers and legions of fans follow their every move, causing pandemonium at every turn. The twins have competed twice at the Eurovision Song Contest as well as releasing albums Planet Jedward, Victory, and Young Love - all reaching #1 in their home country, Ireland. Their new self-written single ‘Free Spirit’ has just been released to an incredible response. Organisers are delighted to welcome the twins to GuilFest for the first time.
Surrey based rockers Arcane Roots are confirmed to appear on The Big Cheese Cave at GuilFest on Saturday 19th July. The three-piece alternative rock band founded by guitarist & vocalist Andrew Groves and drummer Daryl Atkins from Kingston-Upon-Thames are known for their energetic and passionate live shows and for incorporating progressive music, math rock and indie rock into a popular song format. Their debut mini-album "Left Fire" was released in February 2011 and received strong reviews from press and peers alike. The band have since toured with enormously popular artists such as Biffy Clyro and Twin Atlantic.
London-based trio I See Monstas are to hit the Kane FM presents Funky End Dance tent at GuilFest on Saturday 19th July. I See Monstas have been described as reworking the dance format while introducing us to a world of decadent basslines, drumbeats, and musical catharsis. A product of the UK dance scene, they consistently play some of the most thrilling music around, thanks to their uncompromising style that refuses to be pigeon-holed by any one genre classification. Their self-titled EP reached No.1 in the UK & US iTunes electronic chart after selling 100, 000 tracks – a mammoth feat for a mammoth talent.
French electronic metallers The Algorithm will be rocking The Big Cheese Cave also on Saturday 19th July. The brainchild of talented producer Rémi Gallego, The Algorithm infuse modern metal breakdowns with a menagerie of electronic subgenres such as IDM, chiptune and breakcore to concoct their own potent style of fiercely heavy music. Since their inception in 2009, The Algorithm have gone on to destroy venue and festival stages across the globe, perfecting their trademark sound along the way. Armed with Mike Malyan (Monuments) on the drums, the live experience is quite honestly like nothing the metal or electronica worlds have ever experienced.
In the coming weeks the GuilFest line up will continue to grow with over 200 live acts and DJs performing on 7 stages across the festival site, including the now legendary Big Cheese Rock Cave, The Acoustic Lounge and our two unsigned LiveClub stages.
