THE FAITH AND PATIENCE. The new album from Electric River. They are also the virtues that have seen the band through years of highs and lows, from busking in the streets of Kent and playing toilet venues around the country through to playing to thousands on the main stage at this year's Beautiful Days festival.
Rewind to a year ago though and it was then that, after meeting their new manager who encouraged Electric River to write the songs THEY wanted to play and that came from their heart, that the songs of 'The Faith And Patience' took shape.
From opening track, the soaring 'Calling Out' and their ode to the legendary Wilko Johnson's battle for life 'Keep The Engine Burning' through to built-for-stadium epics 'Happy' and 'This Garden Will Grow', Electric River show maturity, soul and honesty few their age possess.
In the past year Electric River have:
*Been chosen to play the main stage at Beautiful Days festival, alongside Imelda May and the Levellers, after the promoter heard just one song by the band, 'Keep The Engine Burning'.
*Won over fans at punk mecca Rebellion Festival and Czech Republic's Mighty Sounds festival.
*Been chosen to open for the legendary New Model Army by the band themselves.
*Won a Purerawk.com award for Best New Breed 2013. *Seen 'Hold Your Nerve' receive numerous plays on Kerrang and Q radio, as well as Scuzz TV.
*Toured the UK twice.
*Been selected by Classic Rock magazine to be on their cover CD. They described Electric River as "The Gaslight Anthem/ Green Day style punk but with added grit".
*Blown up their van twice!
THE FAITH AND PATIENCE was produced by Peter Miles (The King Blues, We Are The Ocean) and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Frank Arkwright (Arcade Fire, Frank Turner). With songs that scream out originality, Electric River possess a rarity among bands these days – a sound that is all their own.
The journey has just begun. Keep the engine burning...
