In 2008, TC Smythe's first billing at the Guildford Tup read, "Smythe and Taylor - Liberal Texas Music - Tonight Only". It was an accurate, if comic description of the music she creates.
TC calls her work "acousti-clectic", and her Surrey fan base has invited her back for a 5th year. TC has appeared on the ENTS24, Surrey Advertiser, Anderton's, Unison and Acoustic stages in years past and was recently awarded "Vocal Group of the Year" from the Academy of Texas Music for her work with folk duo Smythe & Taylor. To date, her work has been signed by Universal Music Group and Bug Music in Texas.
On Friday 13th July, she will be joined on the GuilFest Acoustic Stage by noted local string-meister, Will Shackleton. Enthusiastic fans have gathered in pubs and private homes in Guildford and Oxford to enjoy her progressive approach to acapella, bluegrass, celtic, country and folk music. Her latest CD (with duo partner, Gary Taylor) won't be available in physical form until September, but the songs will be made available at full resolution on flash drive with printable artwork and a special message only for UK fans.
