Electronic music pioneer GARY NUMAN is confirmed to headline The Second Stage on Saturday 14th July.
As one of the founders of the synthpop sound, Gary Numan helped drive the movement on both sides of the Atlantic, and became a popstar with consistent hit records during the early 1980s. His impact echoed strongly after the new wave movement and his style and sound could be heard in the work of many goth rocks and industrial artists to come. Prominent alternative rock bands have since covered his hits in concert and he himself has appeared live on stage with rock acts such as Nine Inch Nails.
Most famous for his number 1 singles “Cars” and “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?”, as well as his 3 number 1 albums “Replicas”, “The Pleasure Principle”, and “Telekon”, as well as another 31 top 50 UK singles, Gary is known as one of the most influential electronic music artists of all time, cited by artists as diverse as Beck, Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, Queens of The Stone Age, Wu Tang Clan and Magnetic Man.
