The eFestivals comedy tent returns for GuilFest 2011, with another side-splitting lineup. In association with Cosmic Comedy, the comedy experts, expect hilarity all round. Running all weekend long, this year the tent is headlined by:
Animated, high-octane comedy from one of the UK's top headline acts. Simon Bligh is one of the finest, and most sought after performers in this country, and beyond. With a Time Out Comedy Award and Perrier Award nomination under his belt, Simon is in great demand. Aside from being a top compere at the world famous Comedy Store, he regularly delights audiences nation-wide at comedy clubs and corporate events throughout the UK. His cheery, conversational manner and manic storytelling involve acute observations and he juxtaposes a cheery, affable conversational style with a wild, frenetic and fast-moving performance engaging audiences in a whirlwind of unadulterated comedy.
“A great comedian – in yer face and very funny” (The Gazette & Press).
Razor sharp Barrie is an impressive stand-up with a routine packed full of punchy gags, intelligent opinion and infectious verve. Much in demand as both a headline act and MC, he has played all over the UK and Ireland, as well as further afield including the States, Australia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Prague, Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Norway, Hong Kong, Macau, Malta, Cyprus, Singapore, Bahrain, Indonesia, Mumbai, Athens (during riot season) and the middle of the North Sea.
"A massive talent " - BBC LONDON LIVE
"A highly topical comedian who exudes a confidence of delivery envied by many other comics" - VENUE MAGAZINE
Reilly is a stand-up comic who is also a guitar hero. Christian uses his dynamic guitar and vocal skills to target histrionic rock bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians. He recently wrote and performed for 'That Was Then This Is Now' (BBC Radio 2) as musical counterpart to Richard Herring and Emma Kennedy, as well as giving his improvisation skills an outing on Radio 2's 'Jammin'.
Christian's comic songs, improvisations, sharp wit and youthful energy have delighted audiences wherever he performs. He was recently interviewed for the British Comedy Awards Magazine, and will be appearing in Edinburgh in 2006, performing in the ever-popular 'AAA' at the Pleasance Courtyard.
"His stand-up is witty and heaving with punchlines…will win over all but the hardest hearts and minds." Chortle
