GuilFest 2011 - Lineup

Quarrel

Quarrel grafts searing vocals and bustling rhymes onto juggernaut baselines, filthy guitars and monsoon beats, all equating to a momentous visual and aural experience. Quarrel's thunderous groove features the claret-voiced vocalist Ampersand and madcap master of ceremonies Tab Deliminated. Funk it up, sing it out, laugh it off, and say something about the universe. Or at least dig that unrelenting hihat.

2011 Video Release:
The band have just finished filming the video for the next single "Is It
Cool", featuring the acting talent of Anna Wing MBE ( 'LOU BEALE' from
EASTENDERS ! ) as a crime lord intent on ridding the world of Quarrel...due
to be released Summer 2011 along with the new album "An Introduction To
Quantum Physics".

2011 Tour:
Building on a giant 2010 the funk diary is phat with bookings for festivals
such as Guilfest (Surrey) and Alchemy (Lincolnshire), both perfect platforms
for the Quarrel live funk. They also supported legends Alabama 3 ( hit TV
show The Sopranos used "Woke Up This Morning" for their opening credits ),
blew up gigs at Camden's sought after Dublin Castle ( The Arctic Monkeys,
Blur, Madness ), and headlined venues such as The Good Ship ( Noel Fielding,
The Beatles, Joy Division ).

2010 Tour:
Quarrel cruised along the South coast in 2010 spreading the good word of
funk. They supported Mobo award winning Akala in Southampton's Joiners and
smashed it. And with festivals such as Weyfest Festival (alongside The
Stranglers, Seth Lakeman, The Zombies, Ade Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds,
Curved Air, Focus & Mungo Jerry) and bookings for Jamstand Festival ( Roots
Manuva, Ugly Duckling ) Quarrel knew 2010 was huge. Mark their words,
progressive funk is hitting the map.

History:
So there's me, with the offending pince-nez in hand, looking dead guilty,
and Rupes says - and you know Rupes, he'll say anything - Rupes says:
'Something's got to be done'. Well, we all fell about laughing, as you can
imagine. Then Gustav says, he says: 'You know what, let's form a three piece
prog-funk-hip hoperation'. And would you credit it, that's exactly what we
did, as soon as the percolator finished its diarrhetic dance of course. I
mean, Timor simply can't do a thing without a robust latte beforehand.
