Curated by the UNISON South East Region and the South East Young Members, the UNISONzone at GuilFest is a place where informed intellectual debate meets fantastic cutting edge music. Described as a feature similar to the legendary Leftfield of Glastonbury, past names to have graced the stage include iconic former MP and Cabinet Minister Tony Benn, Eric Faulkner from The Bay City Rollers, Itch of The King Blues, Celtic Punk Rockers NECK, Dodgy, Miles Hunt from The Wonderstuff, 2 Tone legends Paula Black and Rhoda Dakar and many, many, more. Watch this space for more details on this years line up, but expect to see a hugely diverse array of intellectuals, discussion sessions, political thinkers, poets and great musical talent.
The UNISONzone this year will be hosting the ever popular Unsung Heroes Live Sessions- allowing festival-goers to play in the UNISONzone. The line ups for each day will be available outside the tent.
To grab YOUR 15 / 20+ minutes of fame you will need to bring your talent and your instruments of choice -please note that a standard drum kit, backline and pa will be provided. If you would like to perform in the Unsung Heroes Live Sessions, please contact the stage manager on the day and they will let you know what session times are available. The Unsung Heroes Live Sessions are open to all GuilFest visitors - but you are advised to get in quick as places will be limited!
