One of the jewels in the crown of GuilFest, The Man In The Moon Theatre Tent features a whole host of professional and amateur groups performing fantastic theatre, cabaret and poetry throughout the weekend.
Back by huge popular demand this year is Fergus Rougier - a unique cabaret artist and theatrical entertainer who will bring his unique style of burlesque, parody, music satire, music theatre and clowning to the stage of the Theatre Tent once again. Also appearing this year are MDS with their interactive romp and rummage through the entertainment archives; Fasten Your Seatbelts, returning with extracts from Sondheim's Company; forthcoming Mill Studio production, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and a special 'gender bending' late night set. Pint-size rockers W8 4 IT return with not one, but three reinvented tales, and new to the Theatre Tent, Mossa Studios will thrill us with their contemporary dance as well as the electrifying young people from Spectrum Dance Studios also making their Man in the Moon Theatre Tent debut.
Theatre Tent favourites EDance and Rhythmic Collision return with their vibrant dance routines, and we are especially excited that following their notorious late night shenanigans last year, the Reverend Mother and the Little Sisters of Poughkeepsie will bring us Nuns get one Over the Rainbow. Make sure that you keep your eye out for them as they tour the festival!
And that's not all. You can also catch GSA Saturday School with The Real Chorus Line, the return of 15 Minutes of Shame with Murder on the Sidcup Express, Sketched Out Theatre with Close Encounters of the Female Kind(!?), Something for the Weekend bringing you Barbershop with a difference, and JFJ Productions presenting extracts from Dylan Thomas' Child's Christmas in Wales and Under Milkwood.
There's lots more to be announced, so watch this space!
Be sure to stop by, relax on a hay bale and be entertained by this fantastic oasis of productions. Running from Midday to 1am on Friday and Saturday and 12am on Sunday the tent features special late night performances from 11pm (10pm on Sunday), there really is something for everyone!
We look forward to seeing you there...
