GuilFest Comedy Line Up Announced!!!

The eFestivals comedy tent is back in 2010, with another side-splitting lineup. In association with Cosmic Comedy, our comedy experts, expect hilarity all round. As usual the funny stuff starts at 2pm and runs until 7pm, followed by the late-night show from 11pm, allowing comics to ‘let loose’ with some more ‘adult’ material!

Featuring headliners:

Milton Jones is, quite simply, the best one-line merchant in British comedy. His jokes are mostly one-liners involving puns, a relentless barrage of guffaw inducing gags.

Perrier Award nominee and Time Out Comedy Award winner, Milton also won the prestigious Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1996 for his first solo show and has been a cult favourite ever since.

His Sony Award-winning show The Very World of Milton Jones (BBC Radio 4) has enjoyed three successful series to date and was also nominated for a British Comedy Award for Best Radio Series in 1998. Four episodes of Another Case of Milton Jones have just been commissioned and will be broadcast in November of this year.

He has made numerous guest television appearances and starred as 'The Supervisor' in Sky 1's sitcom, The Strangerers.

Devastatingly funny” (Chortle)

A top notch joke teller” (The Guardian)

Your friend and mine Ivan Brackenbury is Brimlington General Hospital’s flagship radio presenter. The self named “Cheerful Earful” is also the self proclaimed saviour of Hospital Radio will broadcast live back to the patients from Guilfest 2010.

Ivan Brackenbury, the UK’s favourite hospital radio DJ presents his regular request and chat show “Disease-Hour” each and ever day to the ill and captures the fun and excitement you’d expect from being in hospital with games, giveaways, patients’ requests and Ivan’s special blend of music and chat.

This spring Ivan was a Best Act Nominee in the Adelaide Fringe, the "sleeper hit" of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Pick of the Festival according to the posh paper in Melbourne, The Age.

"The whole room was in hysterics from the word go, endorphin-filled laughter indeed proving the best medicine. Brackenbury is absolutely utterly hilarious — I can't recommend this enough. Go see it." (Melbourne The Age)

Highly sought after comic and musician John is one of the UK's top stand-up comics. He has appeared on TV's 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks', Have I got News For You and The Comedy Store Live and has been nominated for the Best Live Performer award for 2 years running at The London Comedy Festival. He was nominated as ‘Best Live Stand-Up’ at the British Comedy Awards and has just returned from a sell out run at the prestigious Melbourne Comedy Festival.

"One of the best things about watching live comedy is seeing a comedian get his second wind of inspiration. Sometimes an established comic suddenly finds something extra, and one of these comics is John Moloney. He's been a headliner at top clubs like the Comedy Store for years - yet his comedy has acquired more depth, as well as an even sharper edge." (The Guardian)

" .. gifted and unpretentious" (The Times)

As well as a great lineup all weekend, including ABANDOMAN, STEVE GRIBBIN, IAN COGNITO, BARRY CASTEGNOLA, SIMON FOX, SEAN PERCIVAL, DANNY BUCKLER, JAMES SHERWOOD, SIMON CLAYTON, TREVOR CROOK, PAUL B. EDWARDS, GEORGE EGG and many more. Please see the lineup page for full details.
