The South (formerly The Beautiful South) are confirmed to perform on the Main Stage at GuilFest 2010 on Friday 16th July. The Beautiful South existed from 1989-2007 and during this period enjoyed constant success in the UK and abroad. The band hit the UK top 10 many times, with their hits of Little Time, Song For Whoever, Old Red eyes is Back, 36D, Rotterdam, Don’t Marry Her, and Perfect 10 amongst others. During this time the band sold a whopping 15 million albums! Fast forward to February 2009 - Dave Hemingway(vox), Alison Wheeler (vox)and David Stead (drums)decided to hook up with former players Damon Butcher (keys), Gaz Birtles(sax) Tony Robinson(trumpet) and recruited Phil Barton(guitar) and Steve Nutter(bass) to help out. 2010 sees The South touring again playing all their old hits as well as a few new numbers, and organisers are delighted to welcome them to GuilFest for the first time.
