Liverpudlian Britpoppers The Lightning Seeds have been confirmed to support Joe Bonamassa on the Ents24 stage at GuilFest on Saturday 11th July. Largely the brainchild of writer, singer and guitarist Ian Broudie, The Lightning Seeds helped to define the Britpop era, cementing their influence on the UK music scene with anthems such as their official England Euro96 football tournament number one single Three Lions, as well as hits such as Lucky You, Change and You Showed Me. Organisers are delighted to welcome the Lightning Seeds, who have notched up an impressive total of 6 top 20 single chart hits and 5 top 40 albums, back to Stoke Park for GuilFest 2009.

Scottish singer/songwriter Eddi Reader will also be performing on the Ents24 stage on Saturday 11th July. Awarded an MBE for her outstanding contributions to the arts in 2006, Eddi has had a flourishing career spanning over 25 years with success as both a solo artist and as a member of the band Fairground attraction - the latter with which she received a Brit Award for best single in 1989 for the anthemic Perfect. As a solo artist she has topped both the album and singles charts, releasing 8 studio albums, with the 9th eagerly anticipated album, Love is the Way, scheduled for release in April this year.

Hard Rocking trio The Hamsters, who have long been established as one of the UK’s premier live attractions, having performed over 4,000 concerts in 22 years, return to the University of Surrey Main Stage on Sunday 12th July. Although primarily playing their own brand of rootsy Rock, Blues and Americana, they're also widely regarded as the UK's leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix and have been championed by Bob Harris of BBC Radio 2 as “one of Britain’s very best live bands”.

Widely renowned as one of the pioneers of the now huge UK dubstep scene, Rusko will be supporting Pendulum (DJ set) in the Funky End dance tent on Saturday 11th July at GuilFest 2009. Purveyor of a sound veering away from the dark, serious side of dubstep, Rusko brings a highly driven energy and fun approach to the scene and his production has been championed by the likes of Pete Tong and Switch whilst being remixed by dance heavyweights as The Scratch Perverts.

Prolific DJ and pioneer of the Acid-Techno sound Chris Liberator is confirmed to play on the Funky End Dance Tent on Friday 10th July. A stalwart of the underground music scene, Chris has been playing all over the world in exotic locations such as Australia, Japan, Brazil and Venezuela since 1991. GuilFest 2009 sees him appearing at Stoke Park for the first time.

Also confirmed for The Funky Dance Tent are Mood Deluxe Live, providing their special mix of heady psychedelic breaks on Friday 10th July before Eat Static; Liquid Ross, also on Friday, playing the latest in psy-trance; Ipcress, providing progressive techno on Friday afternoon and Nagual Sound Experiment playing his unique style of dubstep on Saturday 11th July.

A whole host of Rock bands have been added to the line up on the Rock Cave sponsored by Rock Sound magazine. We Are The Ocean, performing on Friday 10th July, are a five piece post-hardcore band who have supported You Me at Six, Fightstar and The Blackout and are joined by Ghost of a Thousand, Hexes, Sharks and Brotherhood of the Lake all performing on Sunday 12th July, forming what promises to be a truly spectacular line up of the cream of UK rock in the Rock Cave.

Festival favourites, Subgiant will be bringing their infectious mix of live and electronic dance music to the Ents24 Stage on Saturday 11th July. Described as “electronic beats and bloops at their finest” by Radio1s Rob Da Bank, Subgiant have wowed festival crowds up and down the country. 2009 sees them performing at GuilFest for the first time.

Local Guildford rising stars Subsource and Wobbly Squadron have also been added to the bill, with Subsource entertaining fans with their brand of breakbeat punk on Saturday 11th July in the Rock Cave and Wobbly Squadron bringing their unique psychedelic dance sound to the Ents24 stage, also on Saturday 11th July.

All this combined with the previously announced line up of Motorhead, Brian Wilson, Happy Mondays, The Wailers, Will Young, The Charlatans, Athlete, The Stranglers, Joe Bonamassa, September, Ironik, Fugative, Nouvelle Vague, Imelda May, Pendulum (DJ set), DJ Yoda, The BossHoss, The King Blues and Eat Static shows that GuilFest 2009 really does have something for everyone with what is proving to be the strongest line up ever for the Festival.

Loads more acts have still to be announced for this year’s festival on all stages.
