Guilfest continues to grow and innovate, never afraid to leave behind an institution in order to provide new opportunities and experiences. This year the large Dance tent has gone, with the Funky End offering a more balearic sound and setting for those wanting to groove. In its place has come the Rock Cave, a dark and atmospheric venue with excellent lighting and aound system, the cave remained rammed for most of its inaugral day. By the time Reuben were due to play, security were having to hold back the crowds, such was the popularity.
Thrashing out the kind of set that they are renowned for, Reuben offered up a rock and roll show that kep the crowd wanting more. Dropping in the new single Keep it to Yourself, amongst the tracks well known to many at the front.
At one stage the guys almost walked! The crowd whipped into such a frency it was looking dangerous to carry on with plastic bottles and beer flying in all directions, but after an appeal from the stage, backed up by the crowd, Reuben finished off a stormer.
With a new album out in Septmber, Reuben looked a worthy act to close the Inaugral day at the Rock Cave.
