Hot. Very hot. And Sunny. Very very Sunnny. Festivals are not supposed to be like this. Where is the mud? Why are there no queues for wellingtons?

Guilfest 2005 has a feeling closer to a mediterranean beach party than a Surrey Rock Festival. Adding to the summmer vibe is one of 2005's newest and most popular innovations, The Funky End

With the sun shining down and a cold beer in hand, I happened upon some seriously skankin beats. Playing Dub and Reggae favourites, the crowd were enjoying the breaks and beats and grooving in the shade of the Funky End Canopy

I can only apologise for not relaying the DJ's name, (I lost the relevant page of notes whilst sitting down with my eats) backed up by the MC he kept the crowd moving and raised the temperature.

When he dropped the Specials and "A Message to You Rudy" the whole place got downn and stopped their messin around. Based on the crowds over the last two days in the new tent, there will be clamours for the return of these guys next year.
