So the curfew has fallen, the amplifiers turned off and the bar is closed... Where to now for nocturnal festival frolics? At Guilfest the party carries on, an innovation this year is the transformation of the large comedy stage into an open acoustic venue.
Resting my dance weary legs, I sat down and realised that there was no compere, no organisation and no agenda... how this developed into a full blown jam session with renditions of classic festival tunes perfectly illustrates the magic of Guilfest.
A random collection of strumming acoustic guitars, bongos and anything else that could be employed to knock out a rhythm and melody. From the odd strum and beat this alcoholically lubricated orchestra came together to roll out a Simon and Garfunkel classic and moving through a variety of favourites, including All right now and the mandatory wonderwall.
With the crowd in full song, a bottle of beer in hand and cool green grass under foot, this was a fantastic place to round off a Friday of fun.
