At 7:25pm on Friday 15th July, The Twelve Sullivans had the unenviable task of preceding Richmond Fontaine and Hothouse Flowers on The Uncut Magazine stage at GuilFest 2005, but they rose to the occasion magnificently.
We saw their attitude and humour juxtaposed against impressive musicianship in 2004, but this time around it was down right arrogance to make the whole audience fall to their knees for the drinking song - Waxie's Dargle. This proved they have the balls to take chances.
Excusing a few misplaced obscenities, their 35 minute set was top notch. Rousing sing-a-longs and pulsating instrumentals had the biggest crowd of the day enthralled.
They are the perfect festival band and if their management gets it together, we should be hearing an awful lot more from them in the future.
