Tin Soldier are a four piece “Indie Folk Rock” band based in West London . From their routes in the rural northern England , the band have built a dynamic rock sound on classic, folk songwriting.
Essential “Mod” magazine SCOOTERING, sighted Tin Soldier as one of their Bands To Watch in 2005
Following the release of their EP February Snow in 2004 they played support slots with acts as diverse as The Bluetones and Shola Ama, Scootering magazine praised the strength of their songs and live performances. With an album on the way this year Tin Soldier are described as “one of the best young contenders for 2005”.
Hailed as “a refreshing change from Indie” (The Noise) Tin Soldier write compelling songs that are at once intimate and yet epic in their aspirations. “ Catchy but not formulaic, edgy but not pretentious and sensitive without being soppy” (The Noise)
Their songs cover the personal and the political in equal measure, and are taken to the listener by the bands explosively inventive rhythm section.
The acoustic folk influences on their 2004 EP have developed into a broader more complex melodic soundscape. Impeccable song writing with shades of Neil Young and John Martyn, driven by a band with the dynamism of Doves and Gomez.
