SPACE RITUAL was formed 2001 ad, coalescing through time and space by populace demand, and psychic desire and need, to revive the lost magic, the true original spirit of 'HAWKWIND', of which the band were all part, and 'keepers of the flame'.

the band play modern, space / rock / jazzy / dancy / science / fictional / fantasy / spiritual music, to heal and raise spirits, consciousness and awareness, promoting communication and good times, getting high, using multi-media - sound/light/visual imagery, to create extremely wild, whacky, mind boggling / blowing experience, each performance truly a happening.

the band have played many prestigious festivals in britain, inc glastonbury, canterbury, guilfest, ystalavera [wales] etc., as well as prestigious venues, including brixton academy, london astoria, etc., and others all over britain, to exstatic crowds….

NIK 'THUNDER RIDER' TURNER – sax / flute / vocals - founder member of legendary space rock band 'hawkwind' [69-77], [named after nik's 'nick-name'], wrote seminal underground hawkwind anthems 'masters of the universe', 'brainstorm', ' d-rider' and was driving force in the creation of the legend and mythology which created the band's success. formed 'sphynx' [77-79], egyptologic / hieroglyphic / mumbo jumbo fun. formed 'inner city unit' [79-87], satirical/political/punk cabaret. formed 'nik turner's fantastic allstars' [87-04], groovy latin jazz / afro Cuban / rave, guested and recorded with numerous bands, including 'sham69', 'the damned', 'stranglers', 'ruts', ' spirit' with randy california, 'utopians' etc

DAVE 'VENUSIAN ANDROID' ANDERSON - bass/accoustic guitar/vocals - original 'hawkwind' member [72-73],played and composed on gold album 'xin search of space', co-wrote with nik hawkwind underground anthem, 'masters of the universe', played with 'amon duul II', 'amon din', 'van der graaf generator', 'nick lowe', 'inner city unit', robert calvert's krankshaft', 'the groundhogs', has also run a studio recording every band imaginable.

MICK 'HARRY POTTER' SLATTERY - lead guitar / accoustic guitar / vocals - founder member of 'hawkwind' [69-70], played in 'famous cure', 'the compromise’, laughing sam's dice' with terry and 'fat finger'.

TERRY 'CAVEMAN' OLLIS – drums / percussion - founder member of 'hawkwind' [69-72], played with 'laughing sam's dice' with mick, 'little wing', numerous blues and jazz acts.

THOMAS 'IRONMAN' CRIMBLE - rhythm guitar/bass / keyboards /vocals - played bass in 'hawkwind' [70-71], 'skin alley' [on stax record label], 'the other side', jammed with jimi hendrix, and steven stills, 'worthy farm windfuckers', solar ben [with michael wilding, son of elizabeth taylor], organiser of many glastonbury festivals with arabella churchill, ran studio recording thomson twins, killing joke, china crisis, roy harper, john otway.

SAM 'SLIPPERY SCRATCH' OLLIS [son of caveman] – drums / dj record decks - played with 'too sam funky', 'headtone' resident dj in ' montpelier club, brighton,

JOHN 'THE GHOST' GREVES – synths / keyboards - formed 'ghost', 'nova', and played in 'robert calvert's captain lockheed and the starfighters'
