Formed in early 2003 Redkite are based around the song writing partnership of Steffan Lewis and Joseph Emmett, who began writing together in 1996. Their songs are varied and original, ranging from soft finger picking acoustic through to bluesy country rock. You will hear hints their folk, rock, blues and soul influences through out. Emmett Is responsible for a majority of the lyrics and Lewis the music in turn.

November 2004 saw the welcome return of bassist Chris Perrin from a former Brighton based Redkite incarnation ‘The Alleys’, who along with newest member Jai Restall on Drums has helped forge a fuller, dynamic sound to compliment their folky roots.

Redkite have a busy gig calendar and also support events such as the recent Wake up to Trade Justice vigil in Westminster in which they performed two sets.

May 2005 saw the recording of their first single ‘To the Door’, which will be available on the day alongside their recent EP ‘Most everything’
