Come in.
It's all about being a cat trapped in dogland. But you can find beauty anywhere if you look hard enough. Name me a cause more noble than that.
If you want a genre (and you do) this is alternative pop/rock. Narco glam with acoustic roots. Absinthe with both ears. Spawling and lush. Intimate and jagged.
Cats make good loners but in dogland we've got to stick together.
2004 saw the release of their debut album, Stuff of Myth and Mystery. The album is short and sweet, featuring 8 musical gems plus a bonus video track to the first single, I'm Disappearing (released 18th April 2005). The video is written and directed by BAFTA-nominated director, Philip Barnard (Gone to the Dogs).
The album is distributed in Europe by Backs Records/Shellshock.
Since its release the album has met with widespread critical acclaim and received extensive European radio play as well as bagging the band a BBC session. Ultimately the album is just the culmination of off-beat experience, combined with their trademark blend of twisted and often beautiful imagery.
We hope you like the result. We do.
Their live performances manage to find a hidden notch on the tone knob and with a recent UK tour in autumn 2004 as well as a coveted spot at the 3rd OCA music festival in Tenerife and various live acoustic radio sessions, Own Little World are turning their ether into yours.
