Initially formed as a three piece back in 2000; Minus I.Q. started playing at quite a young age. The original line-up being Michael Lane on vocals and guitar, Jake Schogger on drums and Justin Pither on bass. After having played many gigs in the local North London area for over two years, the band gained a great deal of experience for playing live. In 2003, Jake's old school friend Charlie became the lead singer. In November 2003 (after having won a battle of the bands contest back in July) the band recorded their
first EP live at the highly respected BBC Maida vale studios. After months of further practice the band decided to record a second EP in 2004. This was done at London's Livingstone studios. Over summer 2004 the band recorded 4 new tracks in various local studios which, added to the two Livingstone
recordings, became the 'Out From Under EP'

This was then pressed in time for Reading Festival in order to be sold. Since this the band have played to audiences of up to 600 in local venues and now, at the age of 17, have developed their sound and are almost finished with the recording of their debut album 'Fight Fear With Fire' which along with a 3 track sampler entitled 'Put Out The Flames EP' is due for self-release in Summer 2005 to coincide with many local and national gigs.
