fire in the South are a 7-piece band from London and the South-East.

Formed last year by singer STONE and guitarist Danny Sykes, who co-write all the material, they played at a number of high profile festivals throughout last summer, including GUILFEST, where they went down a storm with the audience.

As yet unsigned, and having just completed tracks for their forthcoming debut album, they have been headlining at various London venues, such as The Borderline, W1, The Half Moon, Putney, where they have started to be picked up by local radio stations.

According to various reviews (www.blogcritics.org), and word of mouth, they would appear to have sucessfully picked up the mantle from the legendary Pink Floyd, adding intelligent, socially aware lyrics to a heavy but melodic guitar-led sound.

Having started as a 4-piece, including drummer Patch Hannan( the Sundays) and Paul Wiffen (peter gabriel, the strawbs) on keyboards, they are now joined by Dom Matthews on rhythm guitar and Honey Hylton & Vanessa White-Smith on backing vocals.

This band and this music are destined to play on the bigger stage, so catch them in an intimate setting while you still can.

Guilfest 05 – The Surrey Ad Stage…Sat July 16 th …on stage 8.45pm.
