D'ARCY's epic pop journey started in 2002 with 2 socially dysfunctional young men from the suburbs who, holed up in a semi-detached in Cheam, began crafting the finest tunes ever written in Cheam.

Ashish and Tristan - armed with only 2 acoustic guitars and one husky larynx - proceeded to rock the London circuit, with regular gigs at the 12 Bar Club, Kashmir Klub and Sound.

Over the next year the band transmogrified into a 4-piece and rocked bigger London venues like The Metro Club and The Water Rats, recording a 5-track EP on the way which made The Hit Sheet say: 'We like this band. No, we really, really like this band!'

A demo of Ash's 'Girl from Mars' recorded for Xfm found its way to actor James Nesbitt who personally phoned the band to say he thought the cover version was 'f*cking brilliant'.

The Guardian described D'ARCY as 'Travis meets Maroon 5 via Squeeze'.

In January 2005 D'ARCY recorded their debut single 'Oxygen' with Rainmaker (courtesy of Stephen Budd Management) who have produced for Ash, Elton John, Roachford and even the Sugababes.

Following support and airplay from BBC radio's Adil Ray, D'ARCY released 'Oxygen' on their own independent label - cheamrecords - on May 3 with a launch gig at The Marquee Club in Leicester Square.
