Smashing Time were one of the bands that made people stop what they were
doing and watch - it was compulsive viewing from start to finish... and I
found myself caught up with them purely by accident When a band takes to the
stage wearing various outfits, either theatrical or strange, I usually cringe
and feel sorry for their mums watching from the back, but not Smashing Time.
If their mums were there they were no doubt rocking out at the front with everyone else, but because they made everyone watching want to be up there with them reaching for the nearest tambourine or set of maracas.
I was lucky enough to be passing stage 3 when Smashing Time were on having not penciled them in for viewing, that loo trip luckily changed my day. They seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves up there playing a middle slot during a very busy day - but everyone willed them on keen to see them enjoy themselves even more..... and the more they played the more physically drained they looked as they cranked up the tempo running to the back of the stage to the mic and back again as if possessed. It was a rare occasion to see a group of guys
All I can say is Smashing Time by name, Smashing Time by nature, if you get to see them play, go....if you don't, well....bah humbug to you
