Unsigned?
The traditionally tough opening slot is filled by Big Wednesday. The only unsigned band on the main stage in 2004, Big Wednesday don't seem phased by the occasion.

A local favourite, well known to gig-goers in the South East its clear that they are not going to let this opportunity pass without showing the crowds a good time.

Their opening song has the stream of festival goers rapidly diverted from the stalls and beer tent straight to the guitar laden Radio 2 main stage.

By the second track, "Jack and Mary", lead Kevin Andrews infectious charm has won over any sceptics, with a roared vote of confidence from the Guilfest crowds they launch into Sticks and Stones and confirm that not only are the lyrics strong and the stage presence compelling but the musicianship is tight too.

The Sun is shining down, work is a distant memory, Big Wednesday are showing what a festival should be all about and Guilfest is on…!
