Have you heard the one about the Irishman, the Englishman, the Canadian and the guy from New Zealand…? Although British-based, Vega 4 are a truly international band. Since forming in 1999, when drummer Bryan McLellan completed the line-up formed by vocalist John McDaid, guitarist Bruce Gainsford and bassist Simon Walker, the band have settled for nothing less than global recognition.

Performances at the In The City (UK) and CMJ (US) music conventions, won them rave reviews and recording contracts, and their first album, 'Satellites', was made in Cornwall, New York and Los Angeles. Following its release in Europe, they've toured there with Nickelback and Nada Surf, and their cover of the Beatles' 'Revolution' was used in a series of national TV advertisements for the Orange mobile phone network in France.

They've performed at such prestigious European festivals as Rock Am Ring and Lowlands, and played their first show in Tokyo in May 2002 to great acclaim. Later last year, they also opened for Bryan Adams at his Hyde Park Route Of Kings concert and subsequently, supported him on major European arena shows, making new friends wherever they appeared. More recently, they've toured the UK, opening for Shed Seven.

With the recent British release of 'Satellites' on 2nd June, Vega 4 are now turning their attention to their adopted home. The latest issue of 'Q' has dubbed them "possibly the best new rock band in Britain" in a four star review of 'Satellites', while in an equally ecstatic review, 'Front' calls them a "brilliant four piece… destined for big things". Vega 4's subtle mix of anthemic melodies and instantly memorable choruses look set to make them one of THE bands to watch in 2003 - and that's no joke.
