Genre: Rock
Performing: 17th July 2004 / The Andertons LiveClub Stage
Website Address: [www.spherics.co.uk]

Spherics formed in the summer of 2003. Founder and core members Jay and Shylo went straight to the studio, and it soon became clear that together, their individual skills and talents were a perfect musical match, and the whole turned out to be greater than the sum of its parts…

Shylo's finely crafted vocal delivery entwined around the sweeping soundscapes of Spherics music, makes for something of a musical 'force majeure'. Spherics' music is full of paradox - they combine incredibly complex and detailed arrangements with beautifully simple turns of melody, carefully weaving flurries of sculptured passion into the mix, leaving all listeners moved in some way…

Spherics believe whole-heartedly in the emotional power of music, and write songs that resonate with people on all levels - from relaxing, chilled out of wavescapes through distortion-fuelled aggression, to the most kicking of grooves, Spherics has them all…

Their music is unusual in that it appeals to a huge range of listeners… it's common at gigs to find the 20-something's rubbing shoulders with the 40's and 50's, demonstrating their universal appeal, intrinsic commerciality / catchiness, but their songs demonstrate this without ever being shallow or contrived - in fact, Spherics pride themselves on the complexity and depth of their music.

Shylo
South African born singer Shylo, has been playing, writing, or singing music most of her life, and has vast experience as a vocalist, violinist, and pianist. Shylo pours herself into any performance, whether in the studio, at intimate acoustic nights, or full electric and shows, and has a haunting stage presence that leaves its mark with audiences everywhere.

Jay
Jay has also spent the vast majority of life writing music in one form or another, trained in sound engineering at the London school of Audio, Jay's work evolved into music production almost immediately. Jay plays piano, guitar, bass and drums on all Spherics studio recordings, and his musical genius as a musician/composer/programmer/arranger has defined the sound of Spherics. Spherics are a hard-working, ambitious, driven team of musicians / writers, whose single unwavering aim is to bring their music to the widest audience possible…
