Acoustic guitar-driven music in the grand tradition, a very English mix of folk and pop, heartfelt lyrics and powerful melodies. With influences ranging from The Beatles, XTC, Billy Bragg and Richard Thompson the band are picking up an enthusiastic live following through playing acoustic venues throughout the UK. The new album "Homeground" encapsulates the bands unique blend of English folk's lyrical traditions with a contemporary take on the crafted song-writing and melodic power of classic 60s style pop /rock.

After making their live debut in February 1999, the Swindon-based band have played dates at the 1999, 2000 and 2001 and 2002 and 2003 Edinburgh Festivals, and are regular performers on the London and Edinburgh acoustic scenes. Following release of the album "Homeground" on Vanity Records in November 2003, the band completed a mini-tour of the UK to promote the album and continue to promote the album with gigs in London, Bristol and Swindon in 2004 including a number of roots/folk festival dates throughout the summer.

The Line-up

The Reviews
"takes me back to those heady days of the 60s ... acoustic twelve strings guitars and Rickenbacker electrics ....a very folky sound ...reminds me of the Byrds, Loving Spoonful, perhaps even Jefferson Aeroplane... the sound on this album certainly takes me back to the semi-acoustic west coast sound of the mid-to-late 60s when folk was making daring steps towards rock music."

"Mr. Love & Justice follows the acoustic pop rock train as it makes its stops along the finer realms of our great planet...wickedly achieved pop songs that will have you humming along in no time"

"…finding that fine middle ground between the raw acoustic and the over-orchestrated...mature, educated and enjoyable. With a raw edge that reminds of the Finn Brothers...Homeground has that 'hand made in the country' feel that brings the best out of the acoustic sound...Recommended."

"Homeground is just about the finest example of English acoustic rock available anywhere today. 12 brilliantly crafted quirky, lyrical, haunting harmonies that reflect the bands own Homeground, Swindon. Comparisons to Swindons other finest, XTC are inevitable but don't be mislead, other influences abound, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Bragg, a real eclectic mix resulting in something unique and refreshing and often moving"
