You would expect The Morenas to be loud and brash, but it's the Essex independent spirit that imbues the music. Hailing from Maldon, on the east-coast salt marshes, the band have emerged as one of the biggest draws on the London and Home Counties gig scene. It was live performances by the lead singer, Paolo and his strength of songwriting that has helped The Morenas release their first single.

When a group of young Essex entrepreneurs saw the band play live they decided to put together a consortium and set up Bleach Records as a vehicle for the band.
"After seeing The Morenas play we collectively decided to enter the record industry. They just oozed talent and passion, and it was our intention to provide them with a platform to show the rest of the world".

This platform has produced 'Heart and Soul', a terrific debut that just screams for attention from the opening line through to the infectious chorus. The reverse side shows 'Social Abuse' building up an ominous wall of sound that breaks up and then rolls over again and again. The double A-Side single was recorded in Hoxton's Milo studios and was produced and mixed by Henry Cross from the Alabama 3 production team and is available in record stores across the UK in CD and Limited Edition 7" Vinyl formats.

Summer is getting busy for The Morenas and along with further studio sessions they will be opening the second stage at this years Guildford Festival with the 'Beta Band' and 'The Levellers' joining them on the Uncut Stage.

With in-depth discussions taking place with further big festivals it can only be a matter of time before they break, and this is one wave that will carry you right to the beach.
