The DIY Cravings were formed in the late summer of 2002. They've played well over 100 gigs, from Wales to Guildford. Over the year and a half they've been together they've become the best at creating their own luck.
Last summer they went over to New York, and hooked up with The hiss and The White light motorcade, to play Detroit's Lager house, they travelled all over Manhattan playing some real dives and picking up the essential elements needed to weld a perfect live sound.
On their return they continued to gig to a intoxicating level of excitement, so much so their fan base has exploded, playing gigs at The West end centre, and managing to sell it out twice. Last year they also enjoyed playing on the unsung heroes stage to a new set of punters most of who still talk about the Guilfest gig.
Bob Harris of Radio 2 has always been a huge support for the band, playing their music from the first time he heard "this town" , to the present day, he even invited them backstage at Guilfest for a interview which he put out on air the night before their gig! XFM have always supported the best in unsigned bands, and The DIY Cravings are heavily supported by Claire Sturgess and Mark Kennedy. They had their first Radio 1 play back in February from Mark and Lard which increased their following ten fold.
More recently they've had success with gaining main support slot with The Ordinary boys and their up coming tour, The DIY Cravings have also been fortunate enough to gig alongside some awesome acts such as: 22/20's The Sights, Mower, Art Brut and The Undertones.
Locally they've got a great name for themselves gigging relentlessly which has gained them interest from the Music industry, including B-Unique, Gut records and Fantastic plastic.
