Bifteck are: Paul Harding (vocals & rhythm guitar), Mike Bradley (lead guitar), Gavin Marsh (bass) and Dom Cahillane (drums).
The band was formed in the spring of 1998 by four local lads between the age of 18 and 21 from the Reigate area.
They have formed their own definitive alternative rock sound over the past few years incorporating a number of musical influences from Green day to The Who to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Their material has noticeably matured in the last year with the addition of a session drummer and a change in lead guitarist, giving them an extra dimension and increasing the general quality and cohesion of the band.
They have completed their third demo c.d. on which they perform a selection of their material ranging from the explosive 'Succeed to deceive' right to the melodic 'Better Man' with a couple of live acoustic tracks also thrown in to represent their diversity. Other notable tracks the band perform include the energetic 'Good Bloke Seamus', the intricate 'Pathless Worlds' and the fans favourite 'Bongo, Bongo' which never fails to rock any venue.
A large number of venues have been played from the gigs at established local establishments to appearances at Sound, Leicester Square, the Underworld, Camden, The Bull & Gate, Camden, The Peel, Kingston, The Cockpit Marylebone, the Studio, Charring Cross, The Cartoon, Croydon, a headlining appearance at the Jubilee Jam Rock Festival, Priory Park, Reigate and probably most noticeably a performance in front of 10,000 on the pitch at Charlton F.C!
The band also play Guilfest 2004 where they feature in a line up including Simple Minds, The Levellers and Katie Melua.
Looking to continue the surge into the London music scene and establish themselves in the in as many new pastures as possible, with a travelling fan base bussed up to more far a field venues and with a new website now up and running - www.Bifteck.co.uk the band strive to continue their journey toward world domination - and a record contract!!
