Within bernard's first year of formation they were spotted and offered a deal by a small indie label on the back of a gig they did in March of that year. After much consideration bernard decided that the deal was not for them, and they continued to build on their portfolio.

bernard's music stems from a vast background of differing influences such as rock, punk, metal, blues and indie which shows through in their songs making their music something very special and unique. Nigel Crane, known for photographing the likes of The Lost Prophets, and SlipKnot has likened bernard to Skunk Anansie and The Guano Apes.

2002 was spent gigging to local acclaim. In December of 2002 bernard signed a deal with Spinach Records, a small independent label owned by Les Carter (formerly of Carter USM).

Mid 2003 saw the successful release of their Debut EP with Spinach Records coincided with a UK tour and additional gigs supporting the likes of Kat Bjelland of Katastrophy Wife ex "Babes in Toyland". In late 2003 bernard headed back to the studio to begin work on their debut album.

2004 will see the release of bernard's first Album "Trail Of Tears" under Spinach Records, and their Video for "One Last Breath" to support the Album release which was directed and produced by GUMBO PRODUCTIONS who are known for filming the likes of The Strokes and Future Kings of Spain.

The Album is currently set for release in September 2004 with plans of a UK/European tour that will take them in to 2005.
